Why this health information is important for the prospective puppy buyers
As responsible breeders, we do take the responsibility for ensuring that everything is done in order to ensure that the offspring is healthy and the breed genetic soundness is maintained. Therefore, the comprehensive information on the dogs’ health and any possible hereditary problems is provided here as a show of our commitment to full disclosure. This way, we give a future Lappie owner some peace of mind.
“Dogs do speak, but only to those who know how to listen.”
Orhan Pamuk
We have known Tyra for three years now – this is, indeed, her age. At the height of the COVID-19 restrictions, it wasn’t easy to obtain a new puppy – not only did the breeders barely have opportunities to meet up in order to produce offspring, but also people rightfully considered that having a canine companion will make their lives more cheerful. Owing to Roslyn at Theldaroy Finnish Lapphunds, we managed to secure Tyra and have her delivered interstate.
Many times did Tyra perform brilliantly on the shows, displaying close rapport with us, and always the joy goes both ways! A show is always a challenge for both the dog and the handler – see here how Tyra masters it (30Mb video)

We were surprised noticing how clever Tyra was and we started her basic show training as soon as we could. Needless to say, we had few not-so-sunny days yet we have had triumphs too, finally attaining the Australian Champion title in May 2022, in the Silver City Broken Hill – to which we owe our breeder’s name.

The list of activities Tyra participated in ranges from sheep herding – watch a movie here, 58Mb file – to obedience training; at one point we even considered training her as search and rescue dog.
Not only is Tyra a great companion dog, clever and loyal but also an excellent, loving member of our family group. She enjoys cuddling, running around in the backyard, playing with us humans, and simply basking in the sun.
