These days anyone willing to obtain a dog, particularly a pedigree one, has quite a choice. Many breeders offer their services – where to go?
While overwhelming majority of the breeders’ community are honest and hardworking people, aiming at multiplying joy in this world, there are also houses who do take compromise when it comes to breed standards and dogs’ health.
We take proud in taking a stringent, no-compromise approach to every single issue related to dog’s health, keeping, and reproduction. Below are some areas where our attention to detail is unmatched.
Hereditary health
Having done a thorough genetic test on Tyra, we are quite satisfied that she has no known hereditary disease markers. We also did specific tests on her eyesight and hips and elbows – the later is often the point of concern with many breeds. No issues here! Also, when it came to breeding, Olaf the sire also had the genetics as close to ideal as possible.
Community
From the day one, we enjoyed tremendous support from the wonderful Lappie community. We ask for and receive advice from many people out there – such as wonderful Roslyn at Theldaroy, Chrissy at Snofyre, as well as few others. New Lapphund owner also become community members and can count on receiving support from us.
Family
We do not derive our main income from the puppies – we show Tyra and produce her offspring just as a hobby. She is the only dog in the family, and much loved one, for that matter. This allows us to address her needs, both physical and emotional, and enjoy the company of a happy dog.
Responsibility
Our principle is leaving nothing to chance. If we are not sure about something, we do not take guesses but ask for a qualified help or opinion – in the community as well as involving a specialist. For instance, we appreciate help given to us by one of the best canine reproduction clinics in NSW, if not in Australia, on all aspects of Tyra’s health, but particularly with the regards to the breeding.
